According to the International Game Fish Association, the current earth tape of 130lbs was set in May, 2010 by Greg Bernal of Florissant, Missouri.
In March, the current Virginia record was set when a 109lb blue catfish was caught on Buggs Island Lake near the confluence of the Dan and Roanoke rivers.
